Job description:
Woodbank received an enquriy from a Malaysian based company 'Global Forest Solutions' asking if they were available to participate in an urgent Forest Stewardship Council audit. The catch being that the audit was scheduled at very short notice for the following week in Guyana, South America.
After quickly changing schedules in New Zealand, Woodbank started off on a two day adventure to ensure they got to the destination, George Town, Guyana in time. The next 7 days were spent as part of an international audit team where the focus was on tropical forest logging methods, health and safety, roading and worker welfare.
Result:
Darrin Collett from Woodbank, was part of a successful audit and responded quickly to the clients needs. Darrin grew up in Papua New Guinea and worked extensively in forestry there, this coupled with his New Zealand forestry experience gave him a broad strategic view to offer international clients.
